SOLD
$3700
13" Ultralight Cube

I put this up for sale on 2/2/07

A great mirror tested by Mel Bartels and By Steve Swayze of Swayze Optical and found to be too nice to refigure or recoat. I hadn't tested it and was planning on having it refigured but they told me it was an excellent mirror.  The last Ultralight Cube I made after I finished the last of my customer scopes.  With my arthritis, I rarely go out and view anymore and when I do, I use our bigger rotating tube scope that was after all designed to be easier on my neck and it has a bigger mirror.  Since this scope has only been used twice, I thought I might as well sell it.  Now that I am unable to work, I could use the money too.  It has a JMI Next Generation 2 speed 2" Focuser.  A 2.6" secondary with enhanced coating.  A Protostar Spider for easy alignment.  A marine canvas light baffle.  A protective panel over the primary mirror that has a removeable plate to make it a 5" off axis reflector for looking at the moon and planets.  A Telrad finder is also included.

It may be seen at Aurora Astro Products

Thier address is:
11419 19th Ave. SE #A102
Silver Lake Plaza

Map and Directions

My personal Ultralight Cube built for travel and to be easier to carry out and set up in the yard.  Great mirror, beautiful scope, travels great, sealed from dust, extremely rugged construction and still light and easy to put in a crate to ship UPS or however.  I hate to part with it but I am afraid it is more of a souveneer for me than an actively used scope.  If I had built it to order for a customer it would have cost a lot more than the $3700 + shipping that I am asking for it.  It can be picked up 45 miles NE of Seattle
